We purchased our first pram, a few weeks before our child was born. Having tested a few prams at our local Mothercare up and down the aisles, we found our ideal one to put our first child in and maybe more in the future.
We were originally spoilt for choice with all the latest brands and new styles out at the moment. Eventually, we opted to go for a Silver Cross pram and pay a little extra for the brand. This is considering that we are planning to have more than one child and hopefully get multiple uses out of it. We are still yet to take it for a spin, but the offer with the free (“included”) car seat and changing bag made the purchase more attractive. The pram covers you from newborn plus, with the carrycot, and chair that you can fit the car seat on it too.
The car seat itself is the standard Silver Cross Simplicity which fits into the ISOFIX quite easily. We got our local Mothercare advisor to ensure that we did not need the ISOFIX for our car and make sure our child would be safe during our travels.
The pram takes a few weeks to deliver from the date of purchase. We did assume this, hence why we ordered the unit in advance. Our delivery arrived eventually, however, we were missing a few items. After contacting customer support, they did not have this in stock and will be another week. Luckily, we planned in advance and our little treasure was not due yet. The warehouse ships the items when stock becomes available, as they are unable to store all the various prams within the store. The benefit of the set itself is the wide choice of colour options. We opted for the sand colour as it gave a nice classy, unisex colour look.
Having unboxed the units, you can already tell how well packaged it is. It takes considerable time to unwrap the whole thing alongside removing the little bits of foam around the metal, be sure to have your scissors handy. Once we eventually unwrapped the pram out of its packing, the pram itself was easy to assemble. Everything clicks zips and fastens into place and is ready to use. You can fold the pram easily to fit into the boot of your car and the frame isn’t too heavy.
Overall, this was a good purchase and such a popular product. We have seen a few of the Silver Cross Wayferers knocking around in a variety of colours already.
